Project Description and Objectives
Through experimental investigation, the detailed fundamental combustion characteristics and the engine combustion process of the surrogate fuels and the target fuels are entirely matched, thus establishing high-fidelity simplified surrogate fuels for biodiesel and providing fundamental evidence for the chemical kinetics development of biodiesel oxidation.
This project mainly investigates the high pressure thermal pyrolysis, ignition delay length, soot formation and engine combustion and emissions of surrogate fuels and target fuels. This study is to reveal the combustion mechanisms and emissions formation and evolvement processes in biodiesel engines, and provide theoretical and technical support for the design and development of biodiesel engines. This project aims to raise a scientific formulation method for multi-component surrogate fuels of real biodiesel used in automotive transportation.
